Common faults

  • Are all the fuses on the 2-way board switched on?
  • Have you checked the generation metre daily and taken readings? Have these readings ready when you call us so the administrator can check them.
  • Has the CT clamp been removed from the cabling near your consumer unit? This is common when electrical engineers complete work in your home or when you have had a Smart Meter installed.
  • Is there an error message on your inverter? If so, research the error on the internet before calling us. There should be instructions on what to do next.
  • Have you spoken to the company that installed your system? If they are no longer in business, have you checked your manufacturer’s warranties? You may still be covered. If so, please call the manufacturer before calling us.
  • Finally, before calling us, you may want to try resetting your system. Below are standard shutdown and start up PV procedures.

Emergency shutdown procedure for PV system

In case of an emergency, you can shut down your PV system by following these steps:

  • Turn off the AC isolator marked “PV POINT OF EMERGENCY SWITCHING”.
  • This will disconnect the AC connection to the inverters.
  • The inverters will detect the loss of AC and will immediately disconnect themselves from the AC distribution system.
  • Turn off the DC isolator(s) at the inverter location.
  • This will stop the flow of DC current through the cables.

Important safety notes:

  • Always wear safety glasses and gloves when working with electrical equipment.
  • Do not touch any live electrical components.
  • If you are not comfortable performing this procedure, please contact our team. One of our experts will be on hand to help.
