In early 2023, GGRS Energie partnered with Tipografic, a major provider of high-volume packaging and label design, to accelerate its journey toward Carbon Net Zero by transforming their Birkenhead facility with a large rooftop solar array. Early performance data indicate that the system has not only reduced its environmental impact but has also contributed to a more resilient and cost-effective energy supply.
As a major manufacturing and design hub, Tipografic’s operations are energy-intensive. To meet their ambitious sustainability targets and mitigate exposure to commercial energy price fluctuations, they required a high-capacity renewable solution that could be integrated without disrupting their precise production schedules.
GGRS Energie provided a full turnkey installation, acting as a single point of contact from the initial site survey through to final commissioning.
Full Turnkey Management: GGRS handled the end-to-end process, including bespoke system design, global hardware procurement, and technical installation.
The Array: A sprawling 800–806 kW rooftop solar PV system, engineered to maximise yield in the Wirral climate.
Performance: Post-installation data shows generation levels above pre-installation projections.
The project forms a central part of Tipographic’s wider sustainability programme.
